TMO Entertainment Proudly Presents, Alfa Anderson...
Alfa Anderson is a soul and dance music icon whose voice defines an entire era of popular music. As one of the original lead vocalists in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-nominated group, Chic, she helped producers Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards build a mountain of gold and platinum albums with hits like "Le Freak," "Good Times," and "I Want Your Love." To the delight of fans all around the world, Alfa's "soulful, sensitive delivery" (Billboard) takes center stage with the release of Music From My Heart (2017), her very first full-length solo album.
Music From My Heart spotlights an impressive range of songs that Alfa wrote and co-produced with the multi-talented Bert Price. The album's first single "When Luther Sings" features Alfa's rousing, heartfelt tribute to her longtime friend Luther Vandross, while powerful ballads like "Sending You Love" and sizzling club tracks like "Dancing Is My Release" add the exclamation point to Alfa's long-awaited solo debut, which she celebrated with a standing room-only album release show at Joe's Pub (NYC) on July 7, 2017.
A celebrated New Yorker by way of Augusta, Georgia, Alfa Anderson began her professional singing career alongside some of the industry's most talented vocalists and musicians. She had a featured role in Cannonball Adderley's Big Man (1976), which premiered at Carnegie Hall, and also starred in Lincoln Center's production of Children of the Fire, a piece scored by legendary trumpeter "Hannibal" Marvin Peterson. Throughout the '70s, she recorded background vocals for a variety of artists, including Nat Adderley, Ray Barretto, Odyssey, Major Harris, and Roy Buchanan. Alfa also sang on the Quincy Jones-produced soundtrack to The Wiz (1978) and Atlantic Records' Live at Montreux (1978) album produced by Arif Mardin and Herbie Mann.
Alfa Anderson's life changed when Luther Vandross invited her to a vocal session for Chic. At the time, Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards had just formed the group with Tony Thompson on drums and Norma Jean Wright on lead vocals. She sang background on Chic's first two singles for Atlantic Records, "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)" and "Everybody Dance," which both brought Chic to the top of the dance charts for seven consecutive weeks in 1977. After joining Chic on tour, Alfa was promoted to lead vocalist, a role she and Luci Martin shared from 1978-1983.
The group's second album, C'est CHIC (1978), was a critical and commercial tour de force. It featured Anderson's two solo numbers, "At Last I Am Free" and the gold-selling single "I Want Your Love." Alfa and renowned session vocalist Diva Gray both sang lead on "Le Freak," Rodgers and Edwards' ode to Studio 54. The song not only became Chic's most successful single but, for more than 30 years, was the biggest-selling single in Atlantic's history. "Le Freak" topped the Hot 100 for three weeks and went to number one on both the R&B and disco singles charts, quickly earning gold and platinum certifications. C'est CHIC was later named "1979 R&B Album of the Year" by Billboard after it topped the R&B chart for eleven weeks.
Risqué (1979) continued Chic's influence across all genres of music and spawned another number one pop and R&B hit, "Good Times." The song brought hip hop to the mainstream when it was sampled on "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang. Alfa maintained a lead role in Chic on Real People (1980), Take It Off (1981), Tongue in Chic (1982), the Soup for One (1982) soundtrack, and Believer (1983). Between her many appearances with Chic on Soul Train, The Midnight Special, Top of the Pops, and New Year's Rockin' Eve, Alfa lent her vocals to Chic-produced sessions for Sister Sledge (We Are Family, 1979), Diana Ross (diana, 1980), and Johnny Mathis (I Love My Lady, 1981).
After Chic dissolved, Alfa Anderson continued her singing career with a variety of solo artists, most notably Luther Vandross. From 1982 through 1987, she was a member of Vandross' touring band and performed at Wembley Stadium, among many other prestigious venues around the world. Throughout the '80s and '90s, Alfa sang on albums by Bryan Adams, Gregory Hines, Mick Jagger, Teddy Pendergrass, Jennifer Holliday, Billy Squier, Sheena Easton, Jody Watley, Bryan Ferry, and Jonathan Butler.
In the late-'90s, Anderson and her husband Tinkr Barfield formed and produced Voices of Shalom, a group who explored spiritual themes through uplifting original compositions. They released two full-length albums, Messages (1999) and Daily Bread (2002), as well as a single called "What A Spirit" (2005), which featured guest vocals by Lisa Fischer and Keith Anthony Fluitt. Meanwhile, Alfa's voice continued to introduce the music of Chic to younger listeners through feature films like Shrek 2, Toy Story 3, Up in the Air, 54, Roll Bounce, and Spike Lee's Summer of Sam.
Alfa reunited with Chic vocalists Luci Martin and Norma Jean Wright in 2010 on "My Lover's Arms." The trio was also joined by Lisa Fischer, who'd previously sung with Alfa in Vandross' band and Voices of Shalom. Produced by Tinkr Barfield, "My Lover's Arms" appeared on Tinkr B. & Lu-Fuki's It Is What It Is (2011). The album included Alfa's lead vocals and songwriting contributions on "Money, Power" and "The Song That Captures Your Heart," laying the groundwork for her first solo single, "Former Lady of Chic" (2013), written and produced by Eluriel (Tinkr) Barfield, Eluriah Barfield, and Taurie Barfield.
"Former Lady of Chic" sparked a surge of interest in Alfa's career. Author James Arena devoted an entire chapter to Alfa in his best-selling book First Legends of Disco (2014), which led to Alfa's acclaimed appearance with Norma Jean Wright and Luci Martin at the "First Ladies of Disco" concert in Palm Springs. That same year, Alfa performed at Central Park SummerStage (NYC), the Grand Opera House (Wilmington, DE), The Cutting Room (NYC), Joe's Pub (NYC), and the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel in Ibiza, where she was a surprise guest during the venue's inaugural concert by Nile Rodgers.
Ibiza-based production team Aristofreeks produced a series of songs for a trio that Alfa formed with Norma Jean and Luci called Next Step. Featuring guest vocalist Kathy Sledge, "Get On Up" brought Next Step to #8 on Billboard's Dance Chart in May 2016 following the trio's headlining performance with Cirque du Soleil at Mandalay Bay (Las Vegas). Nile Rodgers also invited Alfa and Luci to sing on the first new Chic single in 23 years, "I'll Be There" (2015). Released on Warner Bros., the song topped the U.K. charts and bridged two generations of Chic Organization vocalists. While "Le Freak" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, Alfa received the G.E.M.A. Foundation's "Golden Mic Award" (2014) and a Citation from the City of Philadelphia that recognized her many contributions to music.
Honoring a legacy of hits, and a fresh sound that melds the classic and contemporary, Alfa Anderson is poised to make 2017 another exciting chapter in a career that's shaped by one musical benchmark after another. With every note she sings, Alfa's soulful, sophisticated style spellbinds listeners of every generation, all around the world … from her heart to yours.

TMO Entertainment Proudly Presents, "Oui"...
Oui, born in Pasadena, CA and raised in Ohio, is everything you could ask for in an artist. Performing since the early age of six, this well-rounded entertainer has graced the stage on many occasions filling the room with his sleek and soothing style of singing accompanied by his sophisticated demeanor and romantic lyrical content. ..“I was encouraged to pursue a career in singing and performing by my parents, family and friends” says Oui. With that encouragement, Oui set out in search of what he needed, and as you will soon hear, he found it! As a result, Oui started writing and producing his own songs and music. “It all came so natural for me” are the words that come out of Oui’s mouth when asked about his beginnings in the music industry. Unlike many artists of today, Oui is the “full package”. He possesses the gifts for singing, songwriting, producing, and as a musician. Vocally, one can hear tones and melodies reminiscent of the early Motown vocalist and that of Babyface, Kevon Edmonds and Howard Hewitt. Such a collection of talent can only mean a long and lasting journey into the music industry, filled with fresh ideas, respect, number one hits and longevity. Oui has had the opportunity to express his talent through talent shows, telethons, and other nonprofit organization functions. Having performed in such major cities as Indianapolis,IN (Black Expo), Louisville, KY, Dallas and Nashville, TN, Oui brings with him an abundance of experience, knowledge and “know how” from all avenues into what is now known as the entity, OUI. Oui’s most recent project to hit the national airwaves was his collaboration with Angelo "Lo" Ray, along with Kevon Edmonds on the smash hit “24/7”. Oui demoed the song for Edmonds and was asked to appear on the remix. He is currently singing and performing with the hit 80's group, The Deele. Now a member of The Deele, they have recorded their first single, "The Only One" on the D-Town / Sony label. Although Oui enjoys producing and writing for other recording artists, his ultimate goal is to be an entertainer. “With hard work, faith and effort I will achieve the goal of earning a recording contract with a major recording company”. Oui is a compilation of talent, experience and ambition. His top priority is to be one of the best vocalists and producers of the new millennium and beyond. “My philosophy is art in any form is an extension of self. My innermost feelings and dreams are projected in my music. To touch the untouchable, to offer hope to the hopeless, to give joy to one unhappy person makes every note worthwhile”.
TMO Proudly Presents, Gerald Alston and The Manhattans...
The Manhattans were formed in the early 60s in New Jersey as a quintet led by writer/bass vocalist Winfred "Blue" Lovett and emotive lead singer George Smith, along with Edward "Sonny" Bivins, Richard "Ricky" Taylor and Kenneth "Wally" Kelly, all of whom had just returned from service in the armed forces. The group was popular regionally and had minor national success on the strength of some solid recordings for Carnival Records (their version of the country tune "From Atlanta to Goodbye" was a gem) in the late 60s before gaining the attention of Columbia Records in 1970. Unfortunately, their Columbia signing coincided with the sudden illness and untimely death of lead singer Smith. During a tour through North Carolina, the Manhattans came upon a college student with an amazing Sam Cooke-like voice. Recognizing the incredible talent of this 21 year old, the group invited Gerald Alston to join, and he became the lead singer who would bring stardom to the quintet.

TMO Entertainment Proudly presents, Glen Jones...
For the few among us that don’t know, GLENN JONES has seen it all, conquered it all and done it all. Thank God for us that he is doing it all again!! Jones voice penetrates the soul thru music and lyrics. Once you’ve heard “Here I Go Again,” “We've Only Just Begun (The Romance Is Not Over)”, “Baby Come Home” “I’ve Been Searching” “Show Me” and “I Wonder Why,” chart topping hits from this gifted artist, there is no doubt that your soul has been touched. “Give it Time” the current single from the eagerly awaited album of the same name will travel that same path to your soul. With his new CD from his own Record Label, GMG Records (Gensong Music Group) in conjunction with W K M Records, Jones continues to lay the groundwork for new and upcoming vocalist to follow.
The album has allowed Jones to assume creative control of his destiny while reuniting with some of his most trusted colleagues from his over 30 year journey in the music industry. “Give it Time” was written by Barry Eastmond and Gordon Chambers and produced by Barry Eastmond. This dynamic team wrote “I Apologize” for Anita Baker and Eastmond produced the song. Eastmond has produced for Brandy, Brittany Spears, Michael Bolton, Freddie Jackson and the late Whitney Houston. “Long Term” is produced by Barry Eastmond and was a collaborative written effort by Jones, Eastmond and Jolyon Skinner. “All Over You” was written by Bob Baldwin, Dennis Johnson and Zzoiea Ohizep, produced by Dennis Johnson and Bob Baldwin. “Everyday” was truly a family reunion for Jones. He co-wrote this with longtime friend Ross Vannelli, the song is produced by Marque Walker. Jones is joined on vocals by his wife, Genobia Jeter Jones and their niece, Y’anna Crawley. Y’anna is the 2012 Stellar Award Winner for Best New Artist; she is also the 2009 Winner of BET’s Sundays Best. This song also features background vocals by national recording artist Dave Hollister. The result is a smooth blend of family love, just wait until you get a taste of the flavor.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, JONES fondly recalls, “Since the age of 4 or 5, I've always loved music.” Reared in the Pentecostal church, he often found himself risking punishment just to sneak a listen to the secular sounds of Stevie, Bobby, Marvin and Donny, in particular. Heavily influenced by the sounds of the time, JONES formed his first group, “The Modulations,” at the age of fourteen and was later discovered by the late, great gospel legend, Reverend James Cleveland. Although he initially made his mark in the gospel arena, JONES' voice caught the ear of acclaimed musician, Norman Connors, with whom he toured and ultimately began performing R&B music. Having officially made the transition from gospel to R&B, JONES joined the roster at RCA Records. Four years later, he signed with Jive Records and enjoyed success with his self-titled album, which spawned the hit singles, “We've Only Just Begun (The Romance Is Not Over)” and “Stay,” respectively. His move to Atlantic Records produced contemporary up tempo hits “Here I Go Again” and “I've Been Searching (Nobody Like You).” During 1998, JONES signed with SAR for the independent release of “It's Time,” which sold nearly 200,000 copies, via a combination of internet, event and retail sales. In addition, the album included the hit single “Baby Come Home,” a Top 5 R&B single that was one of the Top Ten Most Played Records for 2000, according to Billboard Monitor. Jones was overwhelmed by the success of his last project and feels blessed to have an underground fan base that has sustained his career for two decades.
Marketing, imaging and sleek packaging aside, GLENN JONES clearly understands the dynamics of creating a solid vocal performance and has consistently delivered. “I’ve been in the game for over 30 years, and I am blessed to still be doing my thing. i owe it all to the creator. My mother told me two things that I’ll never forget, and that is, my talent would make room for me, and that my life is in god’s hands, and I believe that.”
